This membership badge belonged to World War 1 veteran Major Charles William Scott French. The badge is dated 1922 and signifies membership of the Returned Sailors and Soldiers Imperial League Australia (RSSILA). Now known as the Returned and Services League of Australia Ltd (RSL), the organisation was first established in 1916 to assist returning servicemen and women of World War 1.
