Base of can is shaped like a funnel, with wire handle on the side, and cylindrical spout with pointed lip, attached via a circlular rim.

History and use
This small oil can was made to release oil drop by drop to directed areas from the specially designed spout. Most likely the can was used in more delicate jobs - on smaller machinery or for filling oil lamps.

This object is part of the Marks collection, donated to the Queensland Museum by Dr E.N. Marks. The Marks were a prominent Brisbane family who made significant contributions to the fields of science and medicine.
