History and use
This novel black board was made by Brisbane toymakers Vivienne and Kenneth Gough. Made in approximately the late 1960s, it features images that were both fun and educational for children. One side of the blackboard shows Australian coins with an emphasis on their feature animals. The other side shows images from the Dick and Dora book series used to teach early reading skills. The alphabet, numbers and a clock face are also included in the design of this ‘Little Scholar’ branded blackboard.
