History and use
This souvenir pin tray from Goondiwindi is just one example of a collection of ceramic souvenir items held by the museum, dated from the 1920s to the 1960s, showing that most areas of Queensland have been promoted. Most of the souvenir items depict features locally regarded as important or symbolic, in this case the Macintyre River. The use of souvenirs is widespread and relies on both local and international manufacturers for supply, sometimes from the most unlikely places.
