History and use
The Mauser C96 was one of the first semi-automatic military pistols, and was the first to see widespread service and acceptance. It became known commonly as the "Broomhandle Mauser" in English speaking countries due to the shape of the grip.

Notable users included Winston Churchill, Laurence of Arabia and the Chinese general Zhu De. The gun also appeared in the movie "Star Wars" as Han Solo's pistol, with a telescopic sight and flash supressor added.
