History and use
Between 1914 and 1918 more than 310,000 Mark VI revolvers were manufactured for use by the armed services.
The serial number on this particular weapon indicates it was manufactured in 1916. Although replaced in the early 1930’s by the Enfield .38" revolver, the Mark VI was still used by some British officers during the 1939 - 1945 War, and by some members of the Australian Army in the Vietnam War.
