Object detail

Description
Yellow bronze round medal, with image of winged victory on obverse.

The reverse details are partly illegible because this medal is sewn down tightly as part of the court mounting of this medal group, but would read as: "THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914-1919".

Medal is suspended from a ribbon: double rainbow effect (indigo at edges and red in centre).

Ribbon also has the Oak leaves device attached, indicating that Major Dallas was recognised for a particular commendable service or deed in action by being officially Mentioned in Despatches.

This Victory Medal also has impressed naming details on the medal rim (or edge): "MAJOR R.S. DALLAS. RA.F.".
