History and use
A legacy of Terrence John Clark, head of the infamous "Mr Asia" drug running syndicate, this weapon was in his possession when he was arrested in Brisbane, at the Gazebo Hotel on June 9th 1978. Unconfirmed accounts indicate that the manager was made suspicious because Mr Clarke had apparently signed the hotel register as "J Petersen, MP" in quiet mockery of the premier, Joh Bjelke Petersen.

In the 1970's the "Mr Asia" drug syndicate, originating in New Zealand with Terrence Clark at its head, imported hundreds of kilograms of heroin into Australia, New Zealand and Britain, with a conservative street value in 2004 of about 850 million Australian dollars. The gang, and Terrence Clark in particular, were also noted for extreme violence as well as a free spending lifestyle. The murder of one of the gang members by Mr Clark in Britain after a botched drug deal in Thailand, and the subsequent discovery and identification of the body finally resulted in Terry Clark's arrest in Brisbane, extradition to Britain, and conviction for murder.
