History and use
The .310" calibre Martini Henry Cadet rifle was developed expressly for training Australian and New Zealand military forces early in the twentieth century, after each newly independent nation had passed its own Defence Act.

These single-shot, low-powered rifles provided ab initio training for ANZAC forces who fought during 1914 - 1918 with high powered, rapid-fire magazine rifles.

This example was made by W.W. Greener.
