Albert Jabez Race

Biography
World War 1 serviceman Albert Jabez Race SERN 633 joined the 4th Tropical Force of the AIF in Brisbane on 25 October 1915. He was from Harwich, England, and was a 30-year-old seaman when he enlisted. Whilst serving in Papua New Guinea he contracted malaria and was discharged at the end of 1916 as medically unfit.

Race spent time at the Kangaroo Point Military Hospital (aka Yungaba) after the War. He was killed in a car accident in 1918 (ref: Qld Times, 12 Oct 1918; Telegraph 6 December 1918).
