Gerald Hancock

Biography
Gerald Hancock was the designer and creator of the 1982 XII Commonwealth Games Relay Batton, held in Brisbane, Queensland. He was assisted by the following artisans: Peter Vranjes - wood turner; Bruce Robinson - organised the jewelry for the baton; Graham Wilson - engineer who made the inetrnal cylinder; Karen Thompson - arranged the layout for the carved symbolic message on the surface; Ben Flack - wood carver; and Trevor Bell - draughtsman who coordinated the technial design aspects.
