Features: Very stout, solidly built swimming crab. Covered in short hairs; strong ridges across front and middle of body. Six teeth behind eye. To 145 mm in carapace width.

Notes: On sand to sandy-mud substrates, amongst weeds and live coral; trawled to 60 m depth. Northern Australia from Exmouth Gulf, WA, to Sydney; Indo-West Pacific, South Africa to Japan.
