Migrated from England to Queensland with family in August 1912, lived in Manly. Enlisted in AIF in World War 1 in August 1915 (service no 4231) and returned to Australia in March 1919. Port then worked as freelance news photographer, documenting many events mainly in and around Brisbane. Photographs published in newspapers such as The Queenslander and the Brisbane Courier. No evidence that he married. He died in 1965.
