It includes the hermit crabs (superfamily Paguroidea), squat lobsters (superfamilies Galatheoidea and Chirostyloidea) and porcelain crabs (family Porcellanidae), amongst other less familiar anomuran groups. Anomurans are found in a wide variety of habitats, from the shoreline to the deep sea.
